Decree on the Creation of the National Commission for International Humanitarian Law

Decree No 144 of the Esteemed Council of Ministers
Dated 27/04/1428 (AH) On the Creation of the National Commission for IHL

The Decree of the Esteemed Council of Ministers, dated 27/04/1428 (AH) establishes, within the Saudi Red Crescent Society, a permanent commission on international humanitarian law (IHL) and conventions related thereto which the Kingdom had either ratified or acceded to, in order to promote awareness of IHL. The Commission shall consist of representatives of the following governmental authorities:

    - Ministry of Defense and Aviation
    - Ministry of Interior
    - Ministry of Foreign Affairs
    - Ministry of Justice
    - Ministry of Higher Education
    - Ministry of Culture and Information
    - Ministry of Economy and Planning
    - Ministry of Education
    - Saudi Red Crescent Society
    - Human Rights Committee within the Consultative Council.
