Crime of Aggression

No specific provision. However, the Principality of Liechtenstein ratified the Kampala amendments to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court on the crime of aggression on 08 May 2012:

    Crimes Against Humanity

    ➤ According to Article 4 in connection with Article 3 of the Law on Cooperation with the International Criminal Court and other International Tribunals, "[T]he competence of the International Criminal Court or of an International Tribunal does not preclude the competence of Liechtenstein courts" regarding "the prosecution and punishment of persons responsible for crimes within the meaning of articles 5(1) (a) to (c), 6 to 8, and 25 of the Rome Statute (genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes) committed after the entry into force of the Statute (articles 10 to 13 of the Statute)."     ➤ § 2831 of the Criminal Code punishes the denial of crimes against humanity:
      "§ 2831
      Discrimination 1) Any person shall be punished with imprisonment of up to two years who [...]
      5. publicly denies, grossly trivializes or seeks justification for genocide or other crimes against humanity, whether verbally, in writing or pictorially, by using signs transmitted by electronic media, gestures, through acts of aggression or otherwise, [...]"

    Genocide

    ➤ Genocide is defined in Article 321 of the Criminal Code of the Principality of Liechtenstein:

      "Section 25
      Genocide
      § 321
      Genocide
      1) Any person who, with the purpose of destroying, in whole or in part, a group determined by its affiliation with a church or religious group, a race, a people, a tribe, or a state, kills members of the group, causes serious bodily (§ 84 paragraph 1) or psychological harm to them, subjects the group to conditions of life capable of bringing about the death of all members or any part of the group, imposes measures intended to prevent births within the group, or, by force or the threat of force, transfers children of the group to another group, shall be punished with imprisonment for life.
      2) Any person who conspires with another person to jointly commit any of the acts set out in paragraph 1 shall be punished with imprisonment of one to ten years."
    § 84 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code reads:
      "§ 84
      Serious bodily harm
      1) If the act results in damage to health lasting longer than 24 days or in an incapacity to work or if the harm or damage to health in itself is serious, the perpetrator shall be punished with imprisonment of up to three years." [...]
    § 2831 of the Criminal Code punishes the denial of genocide:
      "§ 2831
      Discrimination 1) Any person shall be punished with imprisonment of up to two years who [...]

    War Crimes

    Jurisdiction

    The jurisdictional regime applicable to Liechtenstein criminal laws is provided for under Articles 62 to 67 of the Criminal Code, with Articles 64, ¶ 1, no. 6 and 65 dedicated to offences committed abroad.

    International Criminal Court

    Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court: The Principality of Liechtenstein signed the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court on 18 July 1998 and deposited its instrument of ratification on 02 October 2001.
