The Office of the Public Prosecutor investigates the loss of files in the case of the DAS wiretapping of Claudia Julieta Duque

In the course of a legal inspection at the offices of the Administrative Department of Security (DAS) in liquidation carried out by the National Directorate of Analysis and Contexts of the Public Prosecutor's Office on 18th and 19th June, it was discovered that part of the files relating to the wiretapping by that entity of Claudia Julieta Duque, had disappeared.

The information concerned the surveillance which the DAS was carrying out at that time against journalists, human rights defenders and public servants including the said journalist.

Hugo Daniel Ortíz, Carlos Alberto Arsayus, José Miguel Narváez Martínez, Jorge Armando Rubiano, Enrique Alberto Ariza, Rodolfo Medina Alemán and Giancarlo Auque de Silvestri are linked to this investigation, all of whom were under the direction of Jorge Aurelio Noguera Cotes, who was convicted for his connections to the AUC paramilitary group and for the murder of the professor Alfredo Correa de Andreis. These individuals held management positions in the General Intelligence Directorate.

The Office of the Public Prosecutor wishes to clarify that the loss of this information does not affect the investigation, given that it had already been ensured, however it is ordering an investigation to be carried out to establish those responsible for this act"
