Georgian multiple launch systems shelling Tskhinvali
Georgian "Grad" multiple launch systems fired three full salvos at Tskhinvali, head of the committee on press and information of the self-proclaimed republic of South Ossetia Irina Gagloyeva told Itar-Tass by telephone.
"The massive artillery shelling of the city, and mortar and grenade launcher shelling is coming from Georgian territories neighboring South Ossetia in the Gori direction.
"Most shells are exploding in central Tskhinvali. There's information that Georgian armed forces are beginning to storm Tskhinvali," Gagloyeva said.
She underlined that "by launching another armed attack on the peaceful dormant city, Georgia violated not only today's accord on ceasefire until the beginning of talks, but also the principle of Olympic truce, using a weapon of mass destruction against civilian population on the day of opening the Olympic Games.
