Some Russian peacekeepers killed in Tskhinvali
Russian peacekeepers have sustained losses, Commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone (JPKF), Marat Kulakhmetov, told Interfax by telephone from Tskhinvali.
"Dozens of peaceful citizens have been killed and wounded as a result of the Georgian shelling.
"The peacekeepers have also had some losses," he said.
He did not deliberate on the number of dead or wounded among the Russian peacekeepers.
Currently combat actions are being conducted in the center of Tskhinvali, he said.
