Eduard Kokoity: Situation is extremely exacerbated by the Georgian side

South Ossetia intend to takes resolute measures over the fact of the shelling of Ossetian settlements by the Georgian side.

This was stated by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity.

"Presently the situation is very serious. At the height above the Nuli village Georgians are constructing another post.

"We will take the most firm decisions in this regard, for this is an armed formation and they are shelling our villages.

"The situation is being aggravated by the Georgian side," Eduard Kokoity claimed.

The RSO [Republic of South Ossetia] President emphasized Russia’s contribution to the stabilization of the situation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone.

"There is a tremendous concern and willingness of the Russian side to resume the negotiating process.

"We appreciate these initiatives and realize their necessity. The negotiating process should be resumed, but only within the framework of internationally recognized agreement," the President said.

Eduard Kokoity also expressed concern about the destructive stance of the Georgian side.

"The provocative statements of Yakobashvili have nullified the negotiating process. For the statements that this is another success of Georgia, which at last has broken the JCC [Joint Control Commission] format do not represent the facts.

"Today we will discuss this issue at the Republican Political Council. But we can say beforehand that bilateral talks with Georgia are out of the question," Kokoity mentioned.

"All the responsibility is on Mr. Yakobashvili and Saakashvili, i. e., on everyone who intends to break the internationally agreed upon format," the RSO President highlighted.
