Self-styled CIS republics have sovereignty rights.

The President of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity, has said the self-styled CIS republics of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Trans-Dniester and Nagorno-Karabakh have more rights to sovereignty than Kosovo.

Mr.Kokoity was addressing a news conference in Moscow in tandem with the Abkhazian President Sergei Bagapsh.

In the words of the South Ossetian leader, the republics have still got no recognition because of the double standard policies from the international community.

Leaders of South Ossetia and Abkhazia said they are ready to resume talks with Georgia after it has renounced violence and has pulled out of the Kodori Gorge in Abkhazia.

They said Russia had done everything in its power to stabilize the situation in the conflict zone in Georgia, having prevented Tbilisi from starting a war in South Ossetia.

And Russian peacekeepers, they added, would stay in the republics until the conflicts have been settled.
