UN secretary general continues to work with Venezuelan mission to UN — spokesperson

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres continues to work with the Venezuelan mission to the UN, and he is not authorized to decide on recognizing who is the head of state, Guterres's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told a briefing.

"The Secretary General is not in the business of deciding who is the head of state," Dujarric said. "We work on every-day basis with the mission of Venezuela, we will continue to do so," he added.

"The focus remains on the Venezuelan people," he concluded.
