Russian FM follows developments over detention of head of Estonia Without Nazism movement

The Russian Foreign Ministry will "closely follow the developments" over the detention of Andrei Zelenkov, head of Estonia Without Nazism movement and one of the publishers of the Baltic World magazine of Russian compatriots, says the commentary of the Russian Foreign Ministry circulated on Thursday.

"Accusations leveled at the person who is known not only for his anti-Nazi activity and for upholding the interests of our compatriots in the Baltic but also for his substantiated criticism of the discriminatory policy of the Estonian authorities in the human rights area," the ministry noted.

"We expect an objective investigation which would not be politically-motivated and would be based on strict observance of international norms in the area of human rights and the principles of law," the ministry stressed.
