About 150 units of electronic warfare hardware used in Russia's Center-2015 drills

The troops in a strategic exercised designated as Center 2015 are using around 150 units of military and special electronic warfare (EW) hardware, with about half of them being advanced systems, the Defense Ministry press office told journalists on Tuesday.

"Around 150 items of military and special EW hardware and various airborne and ground-based EW systems will be operated in Center-2015 drills in support of the participating units," the Defense Ministry said.

It was stressed by the press office that approximately half of the EW combat and special EW hardware was cutting-edge technology, e.g. the Borisoglebsk-2 and Krasukha-4S EW systems, Zhitel automated jammer and Infauna multifunction system.

"The sophisticated EW equipment used on a large scale will allow the troops to cover friendly forces on the march, including those moving by rail, from the simulated enemy's airborne reconnaissance radars, precision air strikes and radio-controlled explosive devices," the Defense Ministry press office commented.
