Crimea's PM to manage republic's all national security forces, asks Putin for help

Prime Minister of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov will be managing all national security forces in the republic and has asked Russia's President Vladimir Putin for assistance in providing peace in the republic, Crimea's governmental press service told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

Aksenov published an official emergency address to staff of the national security forces as Igor Avrutsky had been appointed head of the local police.

"Being Crimea's prime minister and in line with the authorities I have from the Supreme Council, I make a decision to be managing temporarily all forces of the national security, the Interior Ministry, the Armed Forces, EMERCOM, Navy, tax and border control. All commanders should follow orders from me only. Those disagreeing please resign," Sergei Aksenov's address reads.

Besides, he addressed to Russia's President Vladimir Putin for assistance.

"Recognising my responsibility for lives and security of the people, I address to Russia's President Vladimir Putin to offer assistance in providing peace and order in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," the address reads.

On Friday, envoy of Ukraine's president in Crimea Sergei Kunitsyn said head of Crimea's police Valery Radchenko has resigned. Igor Avrutsky was appointed to the position. Before that, he was head of Crimea's department on fighting organised crime, and was acting Mayor of Feodosiya (in Crimea).
