DPR envoy: Ukraine may delay settlement of Donbass conflict for decades

The conflict in Ukraine's Donbass region may last for decades, if the Ukrainian side continues to hamper compliance with the political part of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, head of the delegation of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) at the Minsk talks Denis Pushilin said on Monday.

"I believe the pace of the negotiations in Minsk is insufficient," he said. "If the political agreements are implemented at this rate, unfortunately, the conflict will not be resolved within the 20-year period," Donetsk News Agency quotes him as saying.

Pushlin earlier pointed out that because of Kiev's stance the work of the political subgroup in Minsk rolled back to the previous year. Meanwhile, DPR's envoy to the political subgroup and acting Foreign Minister Natalya Nikonorova said more than once that the Ukrainian side at the talks constantly demonstrates its reluctance and inability to formulate Kiev's stance on the political settlement of the situation not only in the written form or even verbally.
