Lawmaker: Situation in Ukraine can leave systemic opposition aside process

Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Mikhail Margelov does not rule out the situation in Ukraine could "leave the systemic opposition aside the process, and the 'Banderization' could struck the whole country".

"Rioters won in Kiev and western regions of Ukraine. Judging from the fact that the Maidan does not surrender arms it believes that all problems are not solved," Margelov told journalists on Monday.

The Verkhovna Rada cancelled a law, under which the Russian language had become regional in 13 out of 27 territorial entities. Certain Ukrainian politicians seek to introduce a category of "non-citizens" in Ukraine, Margelov said.

"Dozens of monuments to Vladimir Lenin have been destroyed for anti-Russian motives. Proposals have been put forth to ban the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Party of Regions that distanced itself from ousted President Viktor Yanukovich," the Russian legislator said.

"This is certain dictatorship in winners' scenario. Very likely it envisions the 'banderization' of the whole country," he added.
