Houses of Crimean parliament and council of ministers occupied

The houses of Crimean parliament and council of ministers have been occupied by people in uniform without identifying signs, Crimean media reported with reference to Refat Chubarov, head of Crimea's Mejlis.

According to reports, the unidentified attackers haven't put forward any demands as yet.

Police has cordoned off the neighborhood of the council of ministers' house.

Reports say that in Crimea, community defense volunteer squads voluntarily are being formed to move to Simferopol.

What happened in Crimea the day before

February 26, several thousands of people involved in two rallies gathered near the Supreme Council house. One part of the protesters was yelling "Crimea is not Russia!" and "Ukraine, Ukraine". Among them, there were many supporters of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People. Others with flags of Crimea and Russia were yelling "Russia, Russia". The parliament was expected to discuss the domestic political situation.

Trying to ease the situation whipped up by media, chairman of the republic's Supreme Council Vladimir Konstantinov dubbed as unreliable the reports about plans to adopt at the extraordinary session radical resolutions, including Crimea's secession from Ukraine.

"The Crimean parliament does not raise the question of Crimea's secession from Ukraine, he stressed. "This is a provocation aimed at libeling the Supreme Council of the autonomy and stripping it of legitimacy." He urged Crimean residents to preserve calmness and deliberateness in their acts.

As a result, the session was suspended.

Meanwhile, brawls between the protesters started. 30 people were injured in the clashes, six of them were hospitalized. Condition of three injured is considered severe. In addition, one victim was reported: a body of a man was found near the Crimean parliament's house. According to preliminary reports, the man died of a heart attack.
