Ukrainian army violates ceasefire regime 27 times over past day - DPR Defense Ministry

The Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has registered 27 violations of the ceasefire regime on the part of the Ukrainian army over the past 24 hours.

"Intensity of shelling by the Ukrainian side totaled 27 violations of the ceasefire regime over the past day," the ministry told the Donetsk News Agency.

It said the Ukrainian side fired 101 shells of the 82- and 120-millimeter calibers on the DPR territory. The use of antitank means, air defense systems, grenade launchers and small arms has also been registered.

Kiev shelled the cities of Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk and Gorlovka, the localities of Spartak and Sanzharovka.

On February 12, the Contact Group on settlement of the conflict in Donbass signed in Minsk the Package of Measures on implementation of the Minsk Agreements, and a ceasefire was announced from February 15 along the contact line.

Besides, in line with the document, cannon artillery with calibers of 100 millimeters and more was to be withdrawn from the disengagement line to a distance of 50 kilometers, and multiple launch rocket systems to 70-140 km depending on their firing range.

On June 24, the foreign ministers of the Normandy Four (Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France) at a meeting in Paris called on the participants of the internal Ukrainian conflict in Donbass to achieve by June 26 an agreement on pullback of tanks and a number of other armaments with the calibers of less than 100 mm.

Later plenipotentiary representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) at the Contact Group talks Denis Pushilin said the agreement on withdrawal of armaments with the calibers of less than 100 mm could be signed July 7 at a meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk.
