US weapons found at Luhansk airport storehouse earlier controlled by Kiev military -- LPR

Working teams of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) removing debris at Luhansk airport earlier controlled by Kiev military have found an arms depot full of ammunition, small arms and heavy weapons, some of which were manufactured in the United States.

"While removing debris at Luhansk airport, the workers have found an arms depot with ammunition, small arms and heavy weapons, some of which were made in the United States," chief investigator of the LPR Prosecutor's Office Leonid Tkachenko told a briefing at LuhanksInformCenter news agency. "It was physically impossible to get access to this warehouse as the entry was blocked with rubble."

Tkachenko said that "LPR police officers have conducted an operation aimed at seizing and registering the recovered arms, ammunition, explosive substances and other weapons."

Last summer battles were raging at Luhansk airport between LPR self-defense forces and Ukraine's armed forces. Eventually, the LPR forces regained control over the airport.
