UN Security Council may hold new meeting on Ukraine Monday - diplomat


The UN Security Council will most likely meet again on Monday to discuss the situation in Ukraine that continues to aggravate, a diplomat of a Western member state of the Security Council told TASS on Saturday.

She also said that the Security Council continued the discussion of the draft statement on the shelling of Ukraine's eastern city of Mariupol that was submitted by the UK delegation. Amendments have been proposed to the initial variant of the text that need to be coordinated. "The negotiations on the statement text continue. The Council will most likely hold a meeting on Ukraine on Monday," she said.

The UN Security Council last time gathered to discuss the situation in Ukraine on January 21. The meeting was initiated by the Lithuanian delegation.
