Kremlin says Putin, Security Council talked Syria tensions amid Turkey's aggressive steps


Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed at the meeting with the Security Council members the tensions around Syria amid Turkey's aggressive actions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"The meeting discussed the increased tensions around Syria amid the aggressive and unpredictable actions of the Republic of Turkey," Peskov told reporters.

The sides also discussed several interior issues, including the penitentiary system.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Kremlin chief of staff Sergey Ivanov, secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Boris Gryzlov, a permanent member of the council, and several other invited persons.
