Jaish al-Islam terrorist group to join peace Syria talks in Geneva — opposition

Mohammed Alloush, a representative of the Jaish al-Islam group will soon arrive in Geneva to join the negotiating process, a representative of the Syrian opposition told TASS on Sunday.

"He will arrive soon," Omar Kush said. "And he will take part in the talks."

Sources say Alloush may arrive in Switzerland in the coming night or by Monday evening.

The Jaish al-Islam group is recognized as terrorist in Russia, that is why Moscow is against its participation in the Geneva talks on Syrian settlement.

Riyad Hijab to arrive in Geneva but Asaad al-Zoubi to remain as opposition delegation leader

The opposition representative noted that Riyad Hijab, the coordinator of Syria's opposition Higher Negotiations Council (HNC) and former Prime Minister, will arrive in Geneva in 48 hours, but Asaad al-Zoubi to remain as opposition delegation leader.

"We are expecting him to come," Omar Kush said, adding that Asaad al-Zoubi, who "is already in Geneva," would stay as the delegation leader.

According to a source close to the opposition delegation, Hijab does not plan to join talks at the United Nations Geneva office but "will orchestrate the process."

The source said George Sabra, a prominent Syrian opposition figure, would assist al-Zoubi. Apart from that, a major role would be allocated to Mohammed Alloush, a representative of the Jaish al-Islam group, which is recognized are terrorist in Russia.
