Turkey's Heavy Artillery Units Shell Syrian Army Positions in Lattakia

The Turkish Army's artillery units targeted the Syrian Army troops' positions in the Northern part of Lattakia province to slow down the government forces' advances against the terrorist groups near the border with Turkey.

The Turkish artillery continued to shell the Syrian government forces' strongholds near the villages of Areh, Shalaf, Majd al-Kikhiya and Duweirkeh in the mountainous regions near border of Lattakia province with Turkey.

In the meantime, the Turkish artillery opened fire at the Kurdish fighters' centers near the city of Azaz in the Northern part of Aleppo.

The newly-liberated airbase of Minaq in the Northern part of Aleppo province was also targeted by the Turkish artillery a couple of days ago.

On Tuesday, the Syrian army and National Defense Forces managed to liberate more areas in the Northern regions of Lattakia province from militants' grip.

According to the sources in the region, the pro-government forces, keeping on their advances against the terrorists' positions forced them to retreat from the village of Shalaf, establishing control over the village located in the Southwestern part of Kinsibba in the Northern parts of Lattakia province.

During the operation, the pro-government forces also captured a local ancient castle on the strategic hills overlooking the Shalaf village as militants sustained heavy casualties and their military hardware was destroyed by the Syrian soldiers and their allies.
