ISIS kills senior rebel commander

The top commander of the FSA-affiliated Ahmed Al-Abdo Forces was killed today by a suicide attack claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Bakkour al-Salim, a defected Syrian Army colonel, was fighting both the government troops and ISIS in eastern Qalamoun.

Informed sources said that an ISIS suicide bomber sneaked into the camp where Al-Salim and his fighters were holed up, and blew off his explosive belt, killing Al-Salim along with a number of his companions.

Al-Salim struck an alliance with the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam to drive away ISIS from east Qalamoun when the terror group attacked the vicinity of Al-Dumayr town on last April.
