Syrian Army liberates two villages in east Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued to advance in the eastern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate on Wednesday, liberating two villages from the Islamic State terrorists in the Al-Bab Plateau.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army managed to break-through the Islamic State's frontline defenses northwest of Safeh, capturing the first village of Shahour after a short battle near the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway (M-4 Highway).

Following the liberation of Shahour, the Tiger Forces quickly advanced to the village of 'Afreen, where they once again overwhelmed the terrorist group and imposed full control over the area.

The Syrian Arab Army is now advancing at more than 4 axes in east Aleppo, paving the way for their forces to enter the Al-Bab Plateau and secure the Sheikh Najjar Industrial District that is located in the northeastern corridor of the provincial capital.
