Gurziwan District Police Chief Killed In Taliban Attack

Faryab police said Taliban attacked Gurziwan district of the province on Monday night.

Abdul Samad, the police chief for Gurziwan district in Faryab, was killed in a Taliban attack on Monday night, Faryab police said Tuesday.

According to Faryab police, the incident occurred when group of Taliban attacked the district center.

Three of Samad’s bodyguards were also killed in the attack, police said.

Faryab police said that during the clash 10 Taliban insurgents were killed and wounded.

Taliban has not commented on the report.
