Two car bombs kill 15 people in central Baghdad: police
Two car bombs killed 15 people in central Baghdad on Thursday, police and medical sources said.
The blasts came hours after parliament elected a senior Kurdish lawmaker as president, a significant step in a delayed process to create a government capable of uniting the country and countering insurgents threatening to march on Baghdad.
