Russia records another 19, 492 coronavirus cases

Russia’s coronavirus cases rose by 19,492 to reach 6,863,541 in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Saturday.

According to data from the crisis center, Russia’s coronavirus growth rate was 0.28%.

In particular, St. Petersburg recorded 1,406 new cases, followed by the Moscow Region (849), the Sverdlovsk Region (525), Rostov Region (487).

The number of people infected with COVID-19 in Moscow went up by 1,498 per day against 1,509 the day before, to 1,563,508. In relative terms, the increase in the number of cases, according to the center was 0.1%.

Russia currently has 551,255 active COVID-19 cases.

The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Russia went up by 799 in the past 24 hours compared to 798 on the previous day, bringing the total to 180,840.

The provisional death rate stands at 2.63%.

In particular, 36 deaths were registered per day in St. Petersburg, 34 in the Krasnodar Region, 33 in the Sverdlovsk Region, 28 in the Rostov Region, 27 each in the Perm Region and the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The number of deaths due from COVID-19 in Moscow per day increased by 55 against 51 the day before. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in the capital, 27,299 people have died.

According to its data, the share of recoveries rose to 89.3% of the total number of cases.

In particular, Moscow Region reported 1,456 recoveries in the past 24 hours, followed by St. Petersburg (1,378), in the Republic of Crimea (796), in Irkutsk region (554), in the Komi Republic (536).

The number of people who recovered went up by 2,040, to 1,441,166. Currently, 95, 043 people are continuing treatment in the city, according to the center.
