Gas supplies to China via Power of Siberia hit 10 bln cubic meters, says Gazprom CEO

Gas supplies via the Power of Siberia pipeline that started in December 2019, have reached 10 bln cubic meters, Chief Executive Officer of Russia’s gas producer Gazprom Alexei Miller said at the Annual General Meeting of the International Business Congress on Friday.

"The supplies to China are on the rise, having reached more than 10 bln cubic meters of gas totally since the beginning of deliveries under the 30-year contract (contract on supply via Power of Siberia - TASS)," he said.

Miller considers the contract with China unique - the largest in the world. "And by signing the contract China in a wink ranked among our biggest consumers. The cooperation between Russia and China is the cooperation of the largest producer with the largest importer," Miller stressed.

The Power of Siberia gas pipeline supplies natural gas to Russian consumers in the Far East and to China. Deliveries under the contract between Gazprom and China’s CNPC concluded in 2014 will be implemented during 30 years. Annual supplies are planned at 38 bln cubic meters of gas, while the contract is worth $400 bln.
