Helicopters land at US Embassy in Kabul amid Taliban advance

Helicopters are landing at the US Embassy in Kabul as diplomatic vehicles leave the compound amid the Taliban advance on the Afghan capital. The US government did not immediately acknowledge the movements. On the other hand, wisps of smoke could be seen near the embassy's roof as diplomats urgently destroyed sensitive documents, according to two American military officers.
