World Council of Churches condemns US military action in Iraq.
The World Council of Churches, which unites more than 340 Christian churches, confessions and communities in 120 countries believes that the war waged by the United States and its allies against Iraq was illegal, abnormal and not very clever, said the Council's Secretary General Doctor Konrad Reiser at a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
According to him, changing the regime in a country by political interference from outside is an illegal method of carrying out a foreign policy.
In an interview with RIA Novosti Konrad Reiser pointed out that anti-Iraqi actions had pushed the United States in a tight corner and also created a large-scale political problem.
