Russia's Muftis Council considers dialogue with Crimean Tatars important

The Council of Muftis of Russia attaches importance to a spiritual dialogue with Crimean Tatars.

The Council's delegation has left for the Republic of Crimea to meet with Crimean Tatars and to work out mechanisms on involving them in Russia's Muslim community, the Co-chairman of Russia's Muftis Council, Nafigulla Ashirov has said.

"It is important to start the dialogue with Crimean Tatars. We're glad to know that Crimean Tatars have started receiving Russian passports," the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Asian Russia said on Friday.

"Culture, our customs and traditions will help us maintain contacts. They will be invited to take part in the annual Hajj," he said.

"We'll continue to strengthen friendship with Crimean Tatars. We have a common faith and common roots. We're glad the process has started," Ashirov said.
