Putin discusses Syria, Ukraine and Russian aviation industry with Russian Security Council

Russia's military operation in Syria, the Ukraine crisis and internal policy issues, including the condition of the Russian aviation industry, dominated President Vladimir Putin's meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Friday, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

"A meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council dwelt on the ongoing Russian military operation in Syria," he said.

"The Russian Security Council members exchanged views and voiced their concern with renewed provocations on the line of contact in Donbas in recent days," Peskov said adding the militia positions of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) had been shelled.

According to Peskov, the domestic agenda included socio-economic issues such as the condition of the Russian aviation industry and flight safety on Russian aircraft.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev; Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko; Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev; Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev; Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov; Mikhail Fradkov, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, and Boris Gryzlov, a permanent member of the Russian Security Council.
