Russian aerospace defence troops put under control satellite Glonass-M


Aerospace Defence Troops put under control Russian navigation satellite Glonass-M which was launched from Russian northern spaceport Plesetsk on Monday, press officer of the Russian Defence Ministry for Aerospace Defence Troops Colonel Aleksey Zolotukhin said.

"Stable telemetric contact was established and is being maintained with the spacecraft, onboard systems of satellite Glonass-M operate well," Zolotukhin added.

This is already the third launch of Glonass satellites from spaceport Plesetsk. For the first time a Russian navigation satellite was launched from Plesetsk on February 26, 2011. This was first spacecraft of new generation Glonass-K which was orbited by rocket Soyuz-2.1b.
