Russia invites Ukrainian border guards, OSCE to inspect humanitarian cargoes

Russia has invited OSCE officials and Ukrainian border guards to inspect the Russian humanitarian cargoes on the way to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Russia hopes for constructive cooperation with its OSCE and Ukrainian partners in addressing this important humanitarian task," the Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian humanitarian aid convoy that departed from the Moscow Region on Tuesday is expected to reach the Ukrainian border on October 30, an Emergencies Ministry official said on Wednesday.

"The convoy is to arrive in the Rostov Region [bordering on Ukraine's Lugansk and Donetsk Regions] in the early hours on Thursday, the official said.

The fourth convoy of 100 trucks will deliver a total of 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including food, medicines, bottled water and building materials needed to restore the infrastructure in the conflict-hit regions.

Deputy Emergencies Minister Vladimir Stepanov said earlier that the convoy's movement will be coordinated with the Russian Foreign Ministry and International Red Cross Committee as soon as it reaches the Rostov Region.

The first three convoys delivered to the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions some 6,000 tons of food supplies, power generators, medicines, warm clothes and bottled water.
