Annex to the letter dated 25 July 2016 from the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council

Commentary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the illegal visit of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, to the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine protests the visit of the Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, to the territory of Ukraine on 25 July 2016, which was not coordinated with the Ukrainian Government.

Another visit of the Russian official to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is an integral part of Ukraine, proves the continuous disregard by the Russian Federation of the Charter of the United Nations, General Assembly resolution 68/262 on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Baku Declaration and the Parliamentary Assembly resolutions of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other principles and norms of international law.

The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol were, are and will remain the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. This fact is recognized by the whole civilized world that made a proper assessment of the actions of the Russian Federation and continues to take appropriate restrictive measures.

Thus, attempts by the Russian officials to interpret these "visits" to Ukraine as domestic trips are worthless.
