Russia hopes for mutually acceptable decisions at three-party talks on Ukraine AA with EU

Russia hopes for mutual understanding and acceptable decisions at three-party talks over the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev told reporters on Friday ahead of forthcoming consultations.

"We hope to reach mutual understanding and acceptable decisions," Ulyukayev stated.

In his words, decisions that "can lift our concerns regarding technical regulation, sanitary control, information exchange between customs services and others" will be acceptable for Russia.

The Russian minister stated that "our approach is constructive, we would like to find solutions to this situation which is emerging so that it would acceptable for all sides". "We would like to inform fully our partners about our concerns and suggest mechanisms that would permit to lift these concerns," Ulyukayev noted, adding that "mechanisms of three-party consultations at an expert level will be used to debate those risks, proposals and methods".

Ulyukayev recalled that Friday's talks would be held in different formats, particularly he plans bilateral meetings with the Ukrainian foreign minister and the European trade commissioner. "Parties to the conflict are ready to speak to each other all the same," Ulyukayev stated.
