Ukraine's Donetsk republic reports 154 cases of shelling over 24 hours

Ukrainian forces have shelled the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) more than 150 times over the last 24 hours, the DPR defense ministry said on Wednesday.

"Ukrainian forces shelled DPR territory 154 times over the last 24 hours," Donetsk News Agency quoted the DPR defense ministry as saying.

According to the defense ministry, Kiev forces opened fire at the settlements of Yasinovataya and Zaytsevo, as well as Gagarin mine near Gorlovka, Donetsk airport and Petrovsky district in the west of Donetsk. Ukrainian forces fired a total of 67 shells from 82mm and 120mm caliber. "Moreover, they used infantry fighting vehicles, different types of grenade launchers and firearms," DPR defense ministry added.

Information about violations of the Minsk Agreements were handed to representatives of JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination) and OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) mission, the ministry noted.

The participants of the Contact Group on settling the situation in east Ukraine agreed on observing Easter ceasefire starting from April 30. However, the self-proclaimed Donbass republics and Kiev forces continue accusing each other of violating the ceasefire regime in Donbass.
