Donetsk official reports night shelling by Kiev forces


Kiev forces have shelled the settlement of Staromikhaylovka on the western outskirts of Donetsk last night injuring one person and damaging eight residential houses, head of Donetsk's Kirovsky district Yury Budrin said on Tuesday.

'We were shelled at night - the settlement of Staromikhaylovka came under fire. Eight residential houses were damaged there. One man was injured," Donetsk News Agency quoted Budrin as saying.

Ukrainian forces also shelled the village of Alexandrovka in Donetsk's Petrovsky district last night. "As a result of the shelling, a man born in 1953 was injured. Two residential houses on the Chelyuskintsev Street were damaged in the shelling," local administration head Maxim Zhukovsky said.

In total, Kiev forces fired 127 shells at the western outskirts of Donetsk, Yasinovataya and Sakhanka in the Novoazovsky district in the south of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) yesterday.

Lugansk republic shelling

The militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) have reported eight cases of shelling of the territoty of the unrecognized republic.

"The settlement of Kalinovo was shelled five times from the village of Novozvanovka. During shellings, anti-aircraft installations, tripod-mounted recoilless guns, automatic grenade launchers and firearms were used," Lugansk Inform Center quoted LPR people's militia as saying.

Ukrainian forces also shelled the settlements of Nikolayevka and Kalinovka from firearms and the village of Logvinovo from mortars.

No one was injured in the shellings, LPR people's militia said.
