Ukrainian army continues moving military hardware to Donbas contact line — militia

The intelligence service of the self-proclaimed Luhansk republic (LPR) registers on a daily basis the instances of military equipment being moved by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the line of contact, Deputy Chief of Staff of the LPR People's Militia corps Colonel Igor Yashchenko said on Thursday.

"We have registered a great number of tanks in Makarovo village and a new large consignment of ammunition brought by cargo transport to Krasnoozerovka railway station," LuganskInformTsentr quotes him as saying.

According to Yashchenko, the aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone stems from the fact that Ukraine's leadership "is unable to control a significant part of armed units" in the military operation area in the east of the country.

He noted though that no artillery bombardments or provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been registered over the past 24 hours, and the situation is described as "tense but stable."

The LPR people's militia earlier said that the Ukrainian military commanders were building up troops with a view to aggravating the situation in the region. According to the LPR intelligence service, the movement of military vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been registered in Olkhovoye village, and the Azov battalion arrived in Luganskaya village. Besides, about 160 pieces of military equipment and two combat helicopters have been discovered in the southeastern outskirts of Svatovo.
