OSCE representatives detained in Sloviansk arrive in Donetsk

The representatives of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) that has been detained in the Ukrainian city of Sloviansk have arrived in Donetsk through mediation of Russian human rights commissioner Vladimir Lukin, one of Lukin's staff members told ITAR-TASS.

"All have arrived in Donetsk, they feel well. We thank representatives of the Council of Europe for help," he said.

In addition, Lukin's office representative said that the Russian presidential special envoy had no other tasks than the release of the OSCE officials and that Lukin intended to fly to Moscow whenever possible.

On April 25, supporters of federalization in Sloviansk, a city in the south-East of Ukraine, detained a bus with passengers, with unarmed military observers from OSCE countries among them. The observers are staying in the east of Ukraine at the invitation of the Kiev authorities.
