OSCE observers to be able to get to Boeing crash site in the morning on July 19
The group of observers of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has difficulties with getting to the site of the crash of the Boeing plane of Malaysia Airlines in the Donetsk region. An official of the OSCE secretariat said on Friday that "they are expected to arrive this evening or tomorrow."
He said that the group comprises 30 members of the special monitoring mission in Ukraine. According to him, "they will be gathering the facts and monitoring the situation in the crash area."
It is currently planned that the OSCE observers will be based in Donetsk and from there travel to the tragedy site.
The OSCE representative also said that "the observers have no special experience in investigative actions and expert analysis." A diplomatic source, close to the organisation, told ITAR-TASS that the "movement of the observers to the catastrophe site has taken more time than had been initially planned, due to the problems with ensuring security and the need to co-ordinate their movements" with representatives of all the sides involved in the conflict in the east of Ukraine.
