Kremlin chief of staff discusses Russian-US ties with Kissinger

Russian presidential chief of staff Sergey Ivanov has held a meeting with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Kremlin's website said on Thursday.

"The sincere and confidential dialogue focused on the Russian-US relations," the Kremlin said.

On Wednesday, Kissinger was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Both Putin and Ivanov had numerous meetings with the former secretary of state.

"Kissinger is a giant of a man, a very interesting interlocutor and I do respect him endlessly," Ivanov earlier said in an interview with TASS.

"Before I was banned entry to the US over sanctions, I met him there many times and Kissinger even invited me to his New York apartment," he said. "And when the former secretary of state visits Moscow, I try not to miss a chance to meet with him."
