Russia believes West heard its signal on plans to deploy Oreshnik system in Belarus -- MFA

Moscow believes that the West has heard its signal in the form of plans to deploy the Russian Oreshnik missile system on the territory of Belarus, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told reporters.

"I think that [the West] has heard it. Because the signal given on the instructions of Russian President [Vladimir Putin] in the form of a test firing of this missile was more than clear, meaningful and informative. I am sure that the West not only recorded it, but also took it very seriously," the senior diplomat said.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said after the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State in Minsk on December 6 that he had asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to deploy Oreshnik missiles in the country. The Russian leader then said that the delivery of the system could be implemented in the second half of 2025.
