During the Pinochet regime, thousands of people were tortured, murdered, disappeared and exiled. Democracy has returned to Chile, but impunity still reigns, virtually none of those responsible for human rights violations in Chile has been prosecuted for his or her crimes. Political prisoners continue to linger in jail, indigenous people's lives and culture are threatened by "development" projects and freedom of speech is greatly curtailed by censorious laws and judicial actions.

In these pages you can find reports and documents about human rights in Chile today and during the dictatorship. More documents are available in other pages in this website.
